I’ve been playing with my laser cutter and have come up with a butterfly design. Unfortunately it’s not possible to laser-cut polymer clay (because it creates poisonous corrosive acid-gas), so I laser-cut the butterfly out of some shiny card and then pressed it into polymer clay and trimmed round the edges (click into the photo for a closer look):
